(a) Grand Winner Grants

Three Grand Winners will each receive S$1 million in grant funding to advance and pilot their solutions, including one Grand Winner from the Oceans theme.

Temasek Foundation deploys philanthropic capital to support climate-tech innovators in advancing promising early-stage solutions that can deliver meaningful impact for people and planet. As these ventures mature and achieve commercial success, we hope to cultivate a virtuous cycle of giving, where those who have benefited from our catalytic support give back to enable the next generation of impact innovators.

(b) Additional funding opportunities

Finalists under the Decarbonisation theme may also receive development funding of up to S$2 million in total from A*STAR , including access to technical expertise, incubation programmes and testbed facilities. The number of solutions supported and funding awarded will be determined by A*STAR.

Select high-potential ventures under the Oceans theme may also qualify for an equity investment of up to S$500,000 from Asia Ocean Fund (AOF), subject to AOF's due diligence, Investment Committee review and definitive agreements.

The Liveability Challenge 2027 Grand Finale will be announced at a later date.

Teams with the most groundbreaking solutions will receive intensive coaching and mentorship from leading experts to strengthen their proposals and prepare them for investment and deployment.

Finalists will also gain visibility and opportunities to connect with prominent investors, corporates and sustainability leaders from Singapore and around the world. The Grand Finale provides finalists with a platform to showcase their solutions to a wider sustainability and investment ecosystem.

Beyond the competition, finalists may also gain access to potential partners, investors, testbeds and other opportunities that can help accelerate their solutions towards commercialisation and scale.

Started in 2018, The Liveability Challenge is a global call for viable, groundbreaking solutions to some of the greatest problems facing cities in the tropics in the 21st century. Finalists stand the chance to secure more than S$5.5 million in investments and development opportunities across both thematic areas to fund their game-changing solutions.

Any intellectual property (IP) created during the pilot under The Liveability Challenge programme (“foreground IP”) will be governed by a separate agreement between the winning team and the industry partner.
