第五届宜居挑战赛 德国公司农林项目获奖

一项以农业种植来保护森林、保护生物多样性并恢复退化土地,并且促进东南亚地区的可持续发展的企划案,成为今年宜居挑战赛最大赢家。

这个由德国公司Fairventures Social Forestry提出的项目,不仅获得淡马锡基金提供的100万元项目开发资金,还获得两家创投公司PlanetRise和求索创投(Quest Ventures)追加的奖金10万元及5万元。

Fairventures Social Forestry首席财务官薛乐(Paul Schüller)说,在印度尼西亚,这项计划已经与加里曼丹(Kalimantan)的当地社区合作超过三年,在当地超过3000公顷的试点项目取得了良好的进展。

“我们将利用这笔资金来扩大并加快我们的计划,以便在恢复退化的土地、长期帮助当地社区以及涉及混合融资等方面,最大限度地发挥积极影响。”

今年举行的第五届宜居挑战(The Liveability Challenge)聚焦减碳脱碳、食品和农业技术以及以自然为本的解决方案三大主题。

新加坡团队红点分析(Red Dot Analytics)通过人工智能和数码孪生技术抑制数据中心的能源消耗项目、英国团队CQUESTR8的大规模碳封存项目、新加坡和新西兰的测量碳团队GAIT等六个可持续发展解决方案。从400多份企划案中脱颖而出进入决赛。

淡马锡基金会项目总裁兼赛事评审林福全说:“我们很高兴支持Fairventures的这个系统,通过农林种植来保护森林并且恢复退化的土地,在混合融资框架下为当地农民提供可持续的收入。这个与当地利益相关者的长期合作关系将改善当地社区的生计,创造积极的社会和生态影响。”

本地环保媒体公司益笔思(Eco-Business)创始人詹思滢在活动致辞时,对新加坡几十年内实现净零或低碳经济表示乐观。

她说:“突破创新是亚洲热带地区气候行动的重要推动力,这个地区快速发展,对资源要求很高,但在采用昂贵的解决方案方面受到限制。宜居挑战赛在寻找高潜力的解决方案并帮助它们扩大规模方面发挥关键作用。”
